3.5 Years - Full with ups and downs.

First Few days in Amity went exploring every single place, whether it is H Block (So called Mall of Amity) or other blocks.
Most of the time in first year went in running for attending classes, afraid of being debarred and then convincing teachers that there really was bad traffic jam outside Gate. Anyhow Some faculty were really generous regarding attendance (and i believe they were also stuck in bad traffic jam someday for sure so they understand).

Everything was great till 1st year, every second person is great then slowly as the time passes, there were only  few people left on whom you can actually trust and other were just so called classmate cum friend who really value you when they need you for some sort of work.
Well, there's no big deal in that, Normal Human Behaviour. Misunderstanding played a big role in my college life.

Few faculty in Amity really know how to take out grudges in internal marks and result, well you are absolutely safe if you know the skills of flattering and patience level EXPERT (No Offence).
Though 2nd year also passes somewhat like 1st year, had some really bad family problem, and finally dreams come alive, found myself debarred in 2 subjects. at the end of 3rd semester.  I would say there no humanity ground in Amity, talked to HOD for the attendance issue and he was like "Beta, amity mein 30,000 bache hain, kis kis ko dekhenge". Well, I must had some misunderstanding that Head of Department is only for the students of that particular department.

Time passes, reduction in actual 'Good Pals' list. Third year comes and happiness towards end of graduation increases, no more interest in hanging out in H Block, less social life, but actually happy. Finally now there were few days in week when I can reach home early. No more expectations from Amity as it was at the time of joining the university.

Last few days of every semester always went in making 20-20 pages assignment which was always just a xerox of the original one which rotates in whole class' Submissions, Practical files, completing auxiliaries. I still didn't get the point of copying assignments, making practical files which was always copying from the lab manual provided by the Lab Attendant.
My overall 3.5years passes like this - 30% time in transportation & traffic, 40% time in checking Amizone and calculating how much class i need to attend to be safe, 10% time in running behind teachers for attendance and rest time in attending classes.

Life in Amity is just about how you survived the entire semester without getting debarred.

MY EXPERIENCE AS A FOOTBALL PLAYER IN AMITY UNIVERSITY

First day when I entered  in sports field, I saw many  guys practicing in field as amity lot of guys believe  in show off..   I saw this thing in field itself,  as everyone  was wearing  expensive football studs and  you ask anyone  do you played somewhere else before  ??   everyone will answer like I played national level, district level  , I play for some club
It made little bit difficult for me  to sustain in football field  for starting days  , then trials for ASET football team for sangathan held at sports complex , from approx. 150 students from all 1st to 4th year only 3 got selected and I was one of them , as my hard work was appreciated by seniors  and we won gold medal also for consecutive 3 years
But I was not satisfied with this only , my passion towards football paid off when my hard work was seen by university coach , same year I got selected for AMITY UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL TEAM .
But this was only the outside view of football in amity ,which makes it interesting for viewers  but its totally opposite from inside …
As a player of amity football team from last 4 years I faced hell lot of problems
  • There is no one to applause us , no one cheer us as no support is provided to players
  • We even need to beg for attendance to attend practice sessions
  • We represent AMITY at national level competitions but we travel by local train without any reservation , sleeping and sitting at floor of train
  • No refreshments are provided for players
  • Even it affects our academic carrier , teachers always think he can only play and cant study or perform well in exams , so we get less marks
  • Conditions of washrooms near sports complex has been worst n worst from last 2 years , no action has yet been taken
  • Sometimes we don’t even get football to practice , ground condition is very poor, every 2nd or 3 rd day someone get injured

This is done to those best 16 players from total strength of 20,000   who represent AMITY  UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL TEAM

And then they want us to perform in every single match ..
So my journey as football player in amity university is going to be end and I want someday that  condition of football team should improve and players shouldspend some  quality life.

Review for the page 1 and 2, The Global Times dated 28 January 14

The very first page with the headline as “Be brave, no matter where you are” flashes upon the individuals, who have had the courage to change the world by their moves and opinion. This blog lights upon Arvind Kejriwal for bringing political party AAP to power in the capital, Raghuram Rajan, for breathing a new lease of life in India’s staggering economy as new RBI governor. Some people from the world of glamour are also named, with the subtitle of race to grace, Nina Davulari , for being the first woman of Indian descent to be crowned miss America & Anil Kapoor for wooing Indian audiences with a copyrighted remake of an American television series 24.

The second half of the page has excerpts from the interview, which was caught up by Disha Kamaldeep with the judges of the popular dance show –Javed Jaffrey, Naved Jaffrey and Ravi Behl. In the interview they are back after three and half years with the same format , the only change is the new set , new participants, new costumes etc. they says that Boogie Woogie gives the common man an opportunity to showcase their dancing skills rather than competing with any other talent hunt reality show . They added we enjoy every bit of this dance show with the kids.

In the next section on the next page, it says, Christiano Ronaldo wins the prestigious Ballond’Or, which was held by Lionel Messi for past four years, and about the glory of football. By this, students have ventured in some areas where the ace took over or it seemed so, like Virat Kohli for The Sachin Tendulkar in the Indian cricket team & Ranbir Kapoor for The khans in the film industry.

Also , in the lower portion , some pictures show the hard works put in by the students of the editing committee , and shows how they plan , edit , design and work together  to bring out the best in the global times. Devika Bassi, page editor says “writing, editing, fine-tuning, organizing and what not. GT makes you learn everything. It has been an amazing roller-coaster ride. ”

Good Times Pass By Fast

Good Times Pass By Fast

As the summer vacations came to the end and time came to join Amity, I had mixed feeling. I felt really good because unlike many, Amity was my first choice in a huge list of colleges, I was nervous as it was my first time away from home alone, I was excited to meet different people and was sad to leave friends and family behind.
I remember my first day in Amity so clearly as if it was just yesterday. After doing college registration, time came to say goodbye to papa and mummy. It was emotional. Now I was all by myself between a group of people I never met before but same was for the others and this common feeling created a bond and unity and there was already a friendly and family like atmosphere in hostel.
First few days were sufficient to know that this journey of 5 years was not going to be a smooth one. The only difference I felt between school and college was that in school I had fewer assignments to do! In the first month we had a huge class with over 80 students than this section was divided into two. I was sent in a section with very few hostlers and thus I had to part my ways with the friends I made. It was kind of a new start again. Thankfully with  minors on head, I got a little time to think about the rest. After minors time flew and majors came and thankfully the first semester came to  the end.
After the first  semester I made some really good friends in college and in hostel , this made life whole lot easier. With 2nd semester on I learnt how to deal with things. In this semester i realized that minors were just minors and not majors. As I eventually got acclimatized to things, I actually started enjoying life. Semesters past, I parted ways with some friends, made some new ones , some really good friends and friends I could call my best buddies. Now in eight semester, when I look back on the things that worried me in initial semesters I actually laugh. Although I have one more year left in this college but maximum of my friends will be leaving this year and so I kind of feel that this is my last year as well. I cannot believe that the people I did not know four years have now become an integral part of my life.
Before getting into college I thought that college life was all about fun, enjoyment, chilling out with friends, happiness but now I can say that along with all these things college life also teaches some very important lessons of life, it train you for future and it is much more fun.

Unforgettable Awesome Four Years

These four years are most memorable years of my life. When i joined amity i was so afraid of b.tech as whosoever i saw pursuing their b.tech literally crying that why they took b.tech why didnt they choose some other course. Many told that btech is very tough, about ragging and lot many things. But no senior ever tried to talk to us even i didnt do when i became senior. There was nothing like ragging. I joined 2 weeks late and sat silently at one corner. I didnt knew that in btech classrooms change every period and we have to go to some other room. After first period everyone disappeared and some other section came to that room. I was not able to understand what was happening. I didnt knew where the canteen is and i was so hungry and searching where i can have my lunch. First day i just got so much depressed and felt like crying then i found one of my classmate rahul srivastav and took me to the class. After that slowly within few days i got familiar to the system and funny thing is i concentrated more on time table than on studies. I used to type long long messages i.e time table and send it to all my friends and classmates. Then my class was separated and a small class was formed. I was much comfortable and happy. Then made friends and gradually they turned into best friends and i hope they will be forever i just love all of them.(amit,pulkit,adarsh,anurag,drona). And so on my first sem went on. Few weeks Before i got my first sem results at that tine i was in 2nd sem our EVS teacher frightened us so much she said that its very rare that student get all clear in subjects , everyone will get atleast one back and that statement made me so nervous i cant express. Then results were out and having all clear i was the happiest person in whole amity. And from here onwards my fight or whatever one can say my commitment started that let this sem just go  from next sem i will study very hard from the beginning itself and top but now after 3.5 years even in last semester i am sorry to say that i never been on my words or my commitment.  Third semester was a disaster for me in which both civil sections were combined and class strength was around 100 . in this sem everyday everyclass was a fight for me trying and promising to myself that i will concentrate what teacher is explaining but the strength of the class and echo in that big lab room made impossible for me to achieve. And when the results of my 3rd sem were out i was completely broken and lost my confidence completely. But in next sem i improved. In between we went to military camp and the experience over there cant be explained in a paragraph. It was awesome . i wont forget those nights in the amity gurgaon hostel where our whole class were sitting togeather and laughing like anything at jokes cracked by anilesh. Then trip to agra bunking minor exams was also so much enjoying and great experience. I wish those days of millitary camp could come back.and  In these years bday parties are also very special memories. In one of the bday party, i went to restaurent with my friends to celebrate bday party of anurag i was trying to pour some sauce in my plate but unfortunately i pierced it so hard that whole sauce came out at once like a blast and fell on everbody's face and on dress. This was most funniest thing happened with me. Like this many things happened about which my friends tease me a lot and i guess they will be continue this in future also. They threaten me that to whichever level i may reach in future they wont leave me and i am afraid that they will continue to make fun of me at my workplace.and like this i have never come to know how days passed and i reached last stage of btech. Now its so hard for me to believe that my btech is over and now have to enter corporate world. Still in a shock. I wish these days continue for some more time where there are no responsibilities on me and i am free to enjoy.....

LEARNING EXPERIENCE OF 4 YEARS

Four years in amity is a life changing experience & its difficult to sum up in few words but I still remember the first day when I just stepped into the classroom, one classmate welcomed me by saying that “ from tomorrow we will be having minors, come prepared for it “. I got afraid as I joined college  very late & was unaware of the subjects, about the syllabus .. infact about everything.
In the first semester I  got to know about 3A’S  i.e. “Assignments”, “Attendance” & “Amizone”   which are of prime concern for any student of amity ..first semester was very hectic as it was fully packed with 9:15a.m-5:50p.m consecutive classes. attending lectures for so long , mass-bunking the classes  for no reason, starting making of lab files & drawing sheets the night before & finishing it just before the submission date was also a new & memorable experience to me. As the first semester was of very short duration for me , didn’t able to catch up with the patterns & environment of the college, thus ended up with low grades.
Second semester was a bit relaxing but it the was trauma of “the Wednesday” of every week as we have to submit the physic’s lab files & get it checked & also had to spend those two deadly hours by standing  absolutely quiet on our specified positions. It was the second semester only when I started gelling up with my classmates , came to know more  about them .
it was the second year which made me realize that college is not only about having fun & enjoying with friends but also to match up with the parent’s n family’s expectations.it was the year when I started studying & working hard &  ended  up with improved results in both semesters. the memorable event of the 4th  semester  was  the the trip to agra & trip to jaipur in the 5th semester with my friends.both of them were a really special & enjoyable experience.

Talking about bad memories of college life were  getting stuck in traffic & getting marked absent in morning classes; paying heavy fines n getting through  long procedure for loss of i-cards n admit cards; laugh of faculties when they find students in trouble especially during exam days.
and some of the good memories  were the time spend with friends in h-block,gate 4 &gate 2; college trip(military training camp) to manesar ; small parties at dominoes after the end of each semester
It was the later half of 6th semester when   my thoughts about friends got changed or can say it was the polite & helping  nature of my mates which  converted my negative thoughts into positive ones.i  would like to take this opportunity to thank each & every classmate for your  kind & generous behavior.few weeks more & the journey of four years with you guys will be over. I will surely miss you all good people who helped and supported me during the bad days . Through the 3.5 years in amity came across with many  people with different nature, learnt many new lessons from everyone which  will surely help in the future. four years or 3.5 years back when I joined Amity as a civil engineering student, there were a lot of expectations  & excitement in me,but time has unfolded all the myths & wrong assumptions I was carrying out during the first 2 years of my college life. with time I have become more responsible, more understanding &mature, learnt to manage things and take responsibility of family .Even though these four years were not the best one but was a good learning experience for me.

COLLEGE LIFE

The days of a college are used to be memorable in every student’s life. I also had my good days and bad days in the college. On the very first day when I came here for the interview, I like the infrastructure of the college. During the lunch time, I was looking for the cafeteria at that somebody told me to go the H Block. In every building, we find the building name (alphabet) but I had not find the building name H Block. I asked to someone else and he told me it is the building in the shape of H. I really liked the building and after joining the college. Once the college started H block become our favourite spot for hangout. We used to spend the lot of time in the cafeteria of H block. It is a good place to find the things of necessity at one place.
Early days of college was tough because it was the first time I left my parents and did not find the accommodation in hostel and I was living my own outside the college. I found my roommate in the college campus and we become a good friend and my only friend at the new place. Once the classes started, I made some friends. There was lot of work load in the first year and there used to be terror of physics lab and its faculty. After the classes, I usually go the sports complex where I used to play volleyball, basketball and badminton. I made some seniors from mechanical my friends and during the exam time we used to go to the shops for cold drinks at night time. I went on a trip to Vaishno Devi and I will not forget that night. On a single night, I encountered the every kind of weather ranging from hailstorm to strong winds. During the winter season of the 1st year, we used to play cricket with the classmates and go outside for the eat parathas outside the college at gate no. 4 and gate no. 2. Generally, there used to be whole class at the gate no. 4. After the 2nd semester we had a holiday and I missed my friends during the holidays.
In the second year, we had the subjects of civil engineering and the faculty of our department and faculties are used to be good and I started enjoying the subjects of civil engineering and classes at that time were used to be fun with friends and good teachers. I still admire some of the teachers. In the 4th semester, first time in my life I missed the exam that was a mid-term test. I missed the exam for the Agra trip with my friends.

In the third year, I had my toughest days in my college. I had a faculty who don’t like me at all and he used to highlight me unnecessary. At that time, I learned how to be calm and patient when someone is trying to provoke you or intending to breach the peace. I went on a trip to Jaipur with my friends in that year. I don’t like feedback form because privacy of the student is not maintained. Programme leader force the students to fill up the feedback form and that should be positive about the faculty. If it is not then PL know the students who filled the negative feedback about the faculty and then there is more trouble for the students. Basically, there is no need of feedback when you cannot accept the negative feedback. I miss my friends who left the college and who are not with us in the class.

In the 4th year, everyone are worried about the placement and the future but I am not because I have one more year in AMITY and I am sure I am really going to miss my friends who are going to leave me after this semester.
