Four years journey of engineering

Now after four years, when I look in past and think about the time when I was a fresher as a civil engineering student, I giggle. I remember how it felt when it was the first day of college , there was a lot of excitement for the big term COLLEGE and a nervousness for the new environment, new friends , new field and so many other things, I still remember those butterflies in my stomach.

The first semester began with the opposite of the expectations, with the hectic schedule of classes, since morning till evening with the tension of the attendance, which sometimes gave me no feeling of being in college but a high school. Everything in the first semester seemed to be so irritating just because I never used to get time for myself even after having a weekend. Minors were so hyped as if these are the majors later we got to know the real meaning of minors. Within no time first semester passed and second one started. Even though we were still fresher but we had a little of experience of what will happen in the following days. AYF gave a little feeling of college for the very first time. And somehow all the seven semesters passed and we landed in the final semester.

During this long journey I met so many people in and outside the campus, some have become a very important part of my life, some will always be remembered, some I would never like to meet again, with some I would like to live beside forever and some are just like that. i took long time to find people of my type and my group. With time the bond between us became stronger and we became really good friends. We started liking each other’s company and stood together in every rough situation. Time had come when misunderstandings came but was momentary and did not really affect us.

There were times when we laughed, pranked, loved, times when we bunked classes and had coffee in our very own CCD, with so much of relax that we could never realize that hours have passed and we are still laughing and enjoying. There were sunny days in winters when we have been to the balli tea stall, maggi corners, paranthas and many more. There had been so hot days that all we used to look for was AC and used to wish that not only classes should be air conditioned but it should be the whole campus. There had been times when we had put our attendance on stake and went for movie, believing that we will convince teacher.

After the first year, I don’t remember how the next 3 years passed. Time flew away with fun, enjoyment, books, minors, majors, fests, assignments, projects, seminars, workshops, lectures, bunks, parties, treats, laughs, anger, offs and so much other things done. All I can say is that it was not the best time as said still the memories will be cherished forever.
